Fujicopian, manufacturer of thermal transfer film, is launching a low-energy but high-perfomance thermal transfer film for flat head printers to the European market.
Osaka-based Fujicopian¡¯s R&D department reports to have made ¡®significant development¡¯ in its sub-layer component of the film. This component, which seats between the carrier PET film and the ink layer, determines the energy needed to release the ink onto the label; improvements in the formulation of this layer make it possible to be thinner, requiring less energy to print.
Additionally, with standard products the sub-layer does not transfer and remains on the carrier film. FS4 sub-layer is specially designed to transfer and settle on the top of the ink, ensuring a chemical ¡®encapsulation¡¯ of the print, hence a higher resistance.
FS4 is aimed at demanding applications such as tags and labels used in the automotive industry as well as other manufacturing applications. It can also contribute to energy savings and support corporations committed to cut their power consumption. In addition it allows end-users to benefit from the highest printing speed proposed by recently launched printers, up to 16 inches per second. |
